School Based Education

For over 15 years Positive Steps has developed and delivered contextual Health and Lifestyle Education programmes for use in Primary and Secondary Schools. These programmes use a holistic approach to examine various aspects of physical, social, emotional and intellectual health development.

Primary School Education

In Primary Schools, Positive Steps has developed a fully contextualised, value based programme of Sexual Health Education for Upper Primary School pupils. The programme explores topics such as Friendship, Puberty, Menstruation and Hygiene over the course of six lessons, and schools are supported in the delivery of the programme through a combination of classroom delivery, training and provision of resources.

Training for teachers needing more support and guidance on sensitive topics, and those new to Sexual Health Education, is also available. All training programmes are individually tailored to meet the requirements of individual teachers and school, and are fully CPD accredited.
